At ZiMMT, we provide the appropriate stage for the many facets of media immersion and a place for creative experimentation. As one of only a few cultural institutions nationwide, ZIMMT has an innovative 3D audio system consisting of 36 loudspeakers. This provides the future opportunity to develop and present immersive, space-consuming concerts, exhibitions and performances. In addition to the interdisciplinary exchange of artists and developers, we are particularly interested in the transfer of knowledge and workshops. ZiMMT is a gallery, production space, concert hall, research lab and network all in one.
What happened so far: We have renovated the former crane hall from the ground up, installed a heating system, painted, laid electricity, installed speakers, organized seating, built a bar and much more. All this we have so far done voluntarily as an association, because we believe in the place and the project!
We are a group of media artists, developers and event organizers from Leipzig's cultural and media scene. In 2020 we joined forces to found the registered association ZiMMT. The interdisciplinary approach of ZiMMT is reflected in the composition of our team.
