boatnoa
What is a “modern city”? What does it mean to inhabit it while simultaneously being part of placeless, digital spheres? Within this realm of questions positions the audiovisual composition boatnoa by the multimedia duo dotserosix. Real images, videos, and soundscapes from Paris condense the sensory, tangible qualities of a city. Their digital overlay through recording techniques and sound and image processing creates a tension that invites the audience to reconsider their own life in the city from a new perspective. The live performance of boatnoa includes improvised sections, and the immersive visuals react in real time to the 3D sound.
dotserosix are Tania Cortés and Oscar Bahamonde (Paris, France / Quito, Ecuador). Cortés is an interdisciplinary musician and composer, Bahamonde is a musician, multimedia artist, and lecturer. Since 2020, they have been jointly creating audiovisual experiential spaces in a minimalist, glitchy language of form, combining music, environmental sounds, and visual arts. They are constantly searching for immersion, new perspectives, expressive forms, and technical possibilities. Their collaborative works have been presented internationally at festivals.
Jacopo Cenni
Jacopo Cenni presents HUNT, a sound-theatre performance exploring humanity’s pursuit of truth.
Through abstract, sometimes noise-like musical material, he sketches a profound tension between the thirst for knowledge and the obsession with power in a complex world.
Two characters share the stage: The performer represents humanity, while the role of truth is embodied by a series of light bulbs. These lights respond to the performer’s exploratory movements, who tries with increasingly grand gestures to control them. In the end, however, the lights cannot be mastered — symbolizing that humanity ultimately fails to attain the sought-after understanding.
Jacopo Cenni (*1995) is a new media artist and composer from Siena, Italy. He often combines theatrical expression with sound art, focusing on exploring diverse forms of systemic interaction and interplay between elements. His works span sound theatre, electroacoustic composition, and data sonification, and have been presented at prestigious venues such as La Biennale di Venezia (IT) and OHBM Glasgow (UK).

swim 2023
