3D Audio Concert of the Drive In’21 Series / April 24, 2021
With DRIVE In’21, the Center for Immersive Media Art, Music and Technology (ZiMMT) in Leipzig presents its first concert and sound installation series, establishing a clear focus on 3D audio.
Jasmina Rezig
Jasmina Rezig’s performance explores and engages with identity-forming terms.
For this experiment, zie* asked numerous people to speak gender labels and terms for sexual orientations, weaving these recordings together with orgasmic sounds into a sonic landscape—a transformative ritual. In 3D sound, zie finds an unconventional space to grapple with resonating power structures.
Jasmina Rezig’s work spans various artistic fields, including theatre, performance, sound, and composition. Zie is interested in interdisciplinary, cross-genre experiments that give artistic voice to queer and diverse perspectives. To this end, zie is constantly seeking new constellations of collaboration and artistic positions.
Denim Szram
For Denim Szram, experimenting with synthesizers and sound recordings marks the beginning of every compositional process.
Intriguing textures and moods are extracted and expanded into an intense dramaturgy—ranging from deep subfrequencies to high, noise-like sounds, from long pads to short signals.
Denim Szram is a sound and media artist currently living and working in Basel. His artistic work oscillates between music production, performance, multimedia installations, and immersive sound compositions. As an electronic musician, he creates compositions for spaces, dance, and theater. He is an expert in the field of 3D audio, which he uses to craft acoustic scenographies. In addition, he expands sound through other media, developing audiovisual systems and musical interfaces to explore new forms of expression with emerging technologies.
