Modyssey Awakened

Multisensory / motion tracking–based dance theater piece / Feburary 4–5, 2023
The audiovisual performance is based on the VR experience Modyssey. At its center is the artist Mia Gara, who interacts both musically and visually within the space. She tells the story of gaining consciousness, the play between different states. In her inner conflict, sound and music follow her movements.
The project is supported by the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland as part of the Tanz Digital program. It is based on the VR experience Modyssey – A Geometric Poem (funded by the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung and the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt).
The project’s starting point is the VR experience Modyssey – A Geometric Poem, produced and developed by Ectoplastic. It is funded by the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung and the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt and will be released on Steam in 2023.

Modyssey: Awakened was produced at the Ectoplastic Lab in Halle using Mazetools Soniface, Kinect v.2, 7.1 speakers, and 3 projectors.
