YAAND & urbau showing
3D Audio Concert / March 22, 2025
The two artists Anda Kryeziu (YAAND) and Justin Robinson (urbau) are completing a one-week residency at ZiMMT as part of the Spatial Audio Network Europe (SANE). On this evening, the progress of their work will be presented.
The Berlin-based artists have been working together on a project that blends experimental sound design with genre-crossing elements such as hyperpop, industrial noise, and spatialized audio.
At the core of the project are industrial soundscapes, urban and rural field recordings from Kosovo, and industrial sites in Brandenburg. These diverse sound sources are processed and transformed through a fusion of digital and semi-analog techniques, creating textures that are both organic and hypersynthetic.
The juxtaposition of organic recordings with hypersynthetic, glitchy, and rhythmically complex elements reflects the contrast between rural and urban environments, as well as the boundary-pushing ethos of hyperpop. The aim of the collaboration is to challenge the listener’s perception of space, texture, and intensity in modern sound worlds.
