Jules Reidy
Jules Reidy composes music for prepared and acoustic instruments (mostly guitars). Their work can be described as a series of non-traditional song forms that combine unstable harmonic territories, rhythmic elasticity, and abstract narratives with stretched and episodic structures. The aesthetic fluctuates between electronic drones and found sounds, sometimes reminiscent of Hope Sandoval or late albums by Talk Talk. Their recent albums include “World in World” (Black Truffle, 2022) and “Trances” (Shelter Press, 2023). Some of their most notable performances in recent years include the Tectonics Festival (Athens, Greece), the Send/Receive Festival (Winnipeg, Canada), the End of the Road Festival (UK), the Jazz em Agosto Festival (Lisbon, Portugal), and the CTM Festival (Berlin).
