Louis Dufort – Artist Talk
Wir freuen uns, zu einem Gespräch mit dem renommierten Komponisten Louis Dufort einzuladen. Der Talk findet am Abend vor seinem Konzert statt. Louis Dufort lebt in Montreal und zählt zu den bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten der zeitgenössischen elektroakustischen Musik. Er ist bekannt für seine immersiven und fein ausgearbeiteten Werke. Seine Kompositionen werden international präsentiert und loten oft die Grenzen zwischen Abstraktion und Emotion aus.
Im Gespräch wird er Einblicke in seinen Kompositionsprozess und seine Philosophie geben sowie über die künstlerischen und technischen Überlegungen sprechen, die seine Arbeit prägen. Darüber hinaus wird er SpatGRIS vorstellen, eine in Montreal entwickelte Software zur Komposition der Verräumlichung von Klängen und Bewegung in der Musik. Ebenfalls Thema wird das renommierte Akousma Festival sein, eine wichtige Plattform für räumliche und akusmatische Musik in Nordamerika.

We are pleased to invite you to a talk by renowned composer Louis Dufort, ahead of his concert the evening after. Based in Montreal, Louis Dufort is a leading figure in contemporary electroacoustic music. He is known for his immersive and finely sculpted works for fixed media, and his compositions have been presented internationally, often exploring the boundaries between the abstract and the visceral.
Drawing on his extensive experience, he will share insights into his compositional process and philosophy, offering a glimpse into the artistic and technical considerations that shape his work. He will also briefly introduce SpatGRIS, a spatialisation software tool for composing spatial placement and movement in music that was developed in Montreal, and speak about the renowned Akousma Festival, a major platform for spatial and acousmatic music in North America.
