Diesmal: Einführung in Fashion Design Software Clo3D mit Jan Lorenz

Am Beispiel der Mode-Software Clo3D stellt Jan Lorenz seine Arbeit am Projekt Drasta Digital V vor. Es kombiniert Ansätze von Digital Fashion und sorbischem, kulturellen Erbe. Durch die Rekonstruktion von Elementen traditioneller Kleidung entstehen 3D Assets, die insbesondere Anwendung in einem Web3D Online-Archiv finden. In dem Workshop werden Grundlagen von Clo3D vermittelt, insbesondere allgemeine Prinzipien, wie Kleidung in 3D designt und als Schnittmuster ausgegeben wird.

Jan Lorenz studierte Multimedia Design und Modedesign und Burg Giebichenstein in Halle und arbeitet seit vielen Jahren mit der Software Clo3D. Zusammen mit Ectoplastic und dem Regionalkulturverein der mittleren Lausitz initiierte er 2022 das Projekt Drasta Digital. Drasta ist sorbisch und steht allgemein für das Wort Kleidung und Tracht. Am Beispiel der Rekonstruktion dieser traditionellen Kleidung, wird sowohl Wissen über dieses Kulturerbe bewahrt sowie Erkenntnisse über die Techniken und Produktionsweisen.

This time: Introduction to the Fashion Design Software Clo3D with Jan Lorenz

Using the fashion software Clo3D as an example, Jan Lorenz present his work on the project Drasta Digital V. It combines approaches from digital fashion and Sorbian cultural heritage. Through the reconstruction of elements of traditional clothing, 3D assets are created that find particular application in a Web3D online archive. The workshop teaches the basics of Clo3D, especially general principles of how clothing is designed in 3D and output as a sewing pattern.

Jan Lorenz studied multimedia design and fashion design at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle and has worked with the software Clo3D for many years. Together with Ectoplastic and the Regional Cultural Association of Central Lusatia, he initiated the project Drasta Digital in 2022. Drasta is Sorbian and generally stands for the words clothing and traditional costume. Using the reconstruction of this traditional clothing as an example, both knowledge about this cultural heritage is preserved as well as insights into the techniques and methods of production.

This Time: 2D Digital Animation Workshop for Beginners with Krita by Paula Ábalos (Workshop in english)

This workshop offers an introduction to the fundamentals of 2D digital animation using Krita, a free and open-source software for digital painting and animation. Participants will learn the basics of the software as well as essential animation principles through hands-on exercises. Together, we will explore the basics of digital drawing and animation techniques to create simple animated sequences frame by frame. No previous animation experience is required.

What to Bring:
– Laptop computer
– Drawing tablet (recommended), or an iPad that can be connected to and mirrored on the computer. Alternatively, a mouse or trackpad can be used for simpler drawings and exercises.
– Krita installed and ready to use. Please download and install Krita: https://krita.org/en/

After completing her studies in Visual Arts (major in painting) at Universidad Finis Terrae in Santiago, she pursued the Meisterschüler program in Media Arts at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig (HGB), under the supervision of Prof. Clemens von Wedemeyer.
