Thomas Ankersmit
Thomas Ankersmit is a musician and sound artist based in Berlin and Amsterdam. He plays the Serge Modular Synthesizer both live and in the studio and collaborates with artists such as Phill Niblock and Valerio Tricoli.
His music is released on labels like Shelter Press, PAN, and Touch, blending intricate sonic details with raw electrical power to create a highly physical and spatial sound experience. Acoustic phenomena such as infrasound and otoacoustic emissions (sounds generated within the head and by the ears themselves) play a significant role in his work, along with a conscious, creative “misuse” of equipment.
