Diesmal: Introduction to AI videos with ComfyUI and Nodetool (Workshop in english)
How do you make AI video and stay anarchic in an age when digital art is being tokenized?A sentence becomes a scene. An old photo starts to breathe. A doodle turns into a clip. And none ofit happens somewhere in the cloud. It all happens on your own machine. In this workshop, we create short AI videos with ComfyUI and Nodetool. Both tools break AIdown into visible building blocks you can connect, rearrange and play off against each other. Werender our first clips together and take a look at what actually happens between prompt and pixel. Then it’s time to play. With image-to-video, we bring your own photos, drawings and textures tolife. With text-to-video, words become raw material. We tweak seeds, bend prompts and letmistakes happen, because the strangest artifacts are often the most beautiful. Finally, we think bigger: we link two computers into a small render farm. vvvv serves as thecontrol desk. You turn the knobs, send your ideas as jobs into a queue, and both machines get towork at the same time. The same principle drives the Museum of Change in Vienna, just a few sizeslarger. And it shows how you can build your own infrastructure at home from a few graphics cards:no subscriptions, no token counters, fully in your hands. No prior experience needed. If you’ve worked with nodes before (TouchDesigner, vvvv, Blender),you’ll feel at home quickly. Everyone else just brings curiosity.
What to bring:
• Your own computer with:
• Windows 10/11 (vvvv only runs on Windows)
• NVIDIA graphics card, ideally 12 GB VRAM or more (8 GB works with limits)
• at least 100 GB free disk space, ideally on an SSD
• Setup done in advance: install everything using our step-by-step guide on GitHub [link iscoming] and run the check script. If it shows green, you’re ready.
• Power supply and, if possible, a LAN adapter for the render farm
• Image material: your own photos, drawings, scans or textures you’d like to see in motion
• A few ideas or keywords for text-to-video
• Headphones, if you want to watch your clips with sound
